Local Waste & Recycling Event Flyers:
The largest recycling database in the nation. Have something to recycle? Find out how and where! Recycling is important, but it can be complicated. What can’t go in your curbside bin? How many times can something be recycled? What about really large or dangerous items? We’ve rounded up answers to all these questions and more.
Many common products that we use in our daily lives contain potentially hazardous materials and require special care when disposed of. It is illegal to dispose of hazardous waste in the garbage, down storm drains, or onto the ground. CalRecycle has resources to convenient collection locations for Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Electronic Waste (E-Waste).
California law requires all handlers of waste UWED materials to notify DTSC. Some UWED material handlers have also applied to the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) to be Approved Collectors under the Electronic Waste Recycling Act. CIWMB maintains a list of Approved Collectors and Approved Recyclers of CRT materials and Universal Waste Electronic Devices (UWEDs).
